Gary Chilton, the President of the Cornish Rescue Squad, joined the members of Cheshire-Mt Vernon Lodge No. 23 for dinner at their last Stated Meeting on April 8th. We all enjoyed great conversation as we learned more about his job on the rescue squad and as a bail commissioner for both Sullivan and Grafton Counties, we even found out that his father was Mason in Springfield, MA. After the meal Brother Jeff Katchen, our Junior Deacon, presented Gary with a donation from the Lodge.
The Cornish Rescue Squad is an all volunteer organization that provides emergency medical care to the small towns of Cornish and Plainfield, NH. They respond, on average, to 3 emergency calls per week and rely on fund raising and donations from the community for training and equipment. Many members of the Lodge, or their families, have been the recipients of the expert help the rescue squad provides and the Lodge is very proud to be able to help them with this donation.
