Brother Leary was made a Mason in Saint James Lodge No. 102 of Hampton and was raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason on July 14, 1988. In December of 1988 he affiliated with Doric Lodge No. 78, now Doric - Centre Lodge No. 20, of Tilton. He served as Secretary of the Lodge in 1989 and was elected Junior Warden of the Lodge in 1990. He served the Lodge as Worshipful Master in 1993, 1994 and again in 2001. He served as Treasurer of the Lodge from 2006 to 2010. For service to his Lodge and Freemasonry he has been awarded the Major John Sullivan Distinguished Service Medal in Bronze and New Hampshire Freemasonry’s highest award, the Jeremy Ladd Cross Medal.
Paul is a member of York Rite, NH College Societas Rosicruciana and Scottish Rite where he was coroneted a 33rd Degree Mason in August 2011. He is an Honorary Member of the DeMolay Legion of Honor and a member of Bektash Shriners of Concord, NH. Brother Leary has been extremely active in the Order of Eastern Star. He joined Tide Mill Chapter No. 67 in 1988 and served as Chaplain, Associate Patron and Worthy Patron. In 1989 he affiliated with Peabody- Mt. Washington Chapter No. 35 in Tilton and served as Chaplain, Associate Patron and Worthy Patron. He was appointed Grand Chaplain of the Grand Chapter in 1994 and was elected Grand Sentinel in 1995; Associate Grand Patron in 1996; and as Worthy Grand Patron in 1997.
In Grand Lodge, Brother Leary served as District Education Officer and District Deputy Grand Lecturer for the Eighth Masonic District. In May of 2002, Most Worshipful Brother Wendell L. Woodward appointed Brother Leary as Junior Grand Deacon of the Grand Lodge. He progressed through the line, and on May 21, 2011 he was elected and installed as the 113th Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of the Ancient and Honorable Fraternity of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New Hampshire.
Paul’s work career is diverse. He first worked in the hospitality industry, serving as 1st Cook, Chef, Assistant Manager, Assistant General Manager and General Manager of establishments throughout New England. He also worked as a Special Deputy Sheriff in Piscataquis County and for the Pittsfield, Maine, Police Department. Paul has served as a Registered Apprentice in Embalming. He became a patrolman with the Sanbornton, New Hampshire Police Department and became a Sergeant with the Northfield, New Hampshire Police Department before being promoted to Chief. Paul was a Forest Ranger with the New Hampshire Department of Resources and Economic Development before becoming the Chief of Communications, Training and Law Enforcement. In 2005 he became Chief of Communications and remains in that position at the present time.
Brother Leary is married to Margaret Ann Montgomery. Paul and Maggie live in Franklin, NH.
Right Worshipful Brother Gordon was born in Raymond, New Hampshire and attended Raymond Public
Schools and graduated from Raymond High School. He continued with his education and graduated
from Franklin Pierce University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.
John was a banker for more than thirty years and worked for several banks during his career. He held
other positions such as Vice President of Operations, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Loan Officer, and
Loan Review Officer. He retired from banking in 2003.
Brother John served his country for 32 years of which 27 ½ years was with the New Hampshire Air
National Guard at Pease Air National Guard Base, NH, and 4 ½ years with the Air Force Reserve at
Hanscom Air Force Base, MA. John retired in 2003 in the rank of Chief Master Sergeant.
John was the Cub Scout Pack 26 Treasurer for 3 years; he coached Little League Baseball for 7 years,
and was an adult leader and Merit Badge Counselor for Boy Scout Troop 26, for 11 years. He was
responsible for doing all the Citizenship Merit Badges and the Finance Merit Badge.
John began his Masonic journey in Tucker Lodge No. 99, Raymond, New Hampshire, in January 1964,
and was raised a Master Mason on May 23, 1964. In 1973, he was installed Worshipful Master and
would serve in this position three more time…1974, 1985 & 1989. John is currently the Lodge Assistant
Secretary and is also Treasurer of the Raymond Masonic Building Association.
In Grand Lodge, John was appointed Grand Steward in 1992 & 1993; Grand Sword Bearer in 1998 &
1999; Grand Steward in 2000; District Deputy Grand Lecturer in 2001 & 2002, and District Deputy
Grand Master in 2003 & 2004. In 2005, Brother Gordon was appointed to the position of Junior Grand
Deacon by Most Worshipful Grand Master, David J. Lamprey, Sr.
In 1984, Brother Gordon received the prestigious Major General John Sullivan Distinguished Service
Award in Bronze for hard work and untiring devotion to his lodge and to Masonry. In 2003, his lodge
again bestowed upon him the same award in Silver.
Brother Gordon has been a member of Scottish Rite since 1965 in the Valley of Portsmouth/Dover. He
was Thrice Potent Master in 1981 & 1982, Sovereign Prince in 1986 & 1987, and Most Wise Master
in 1994. He is a member of New Hampshire Consistory and served as Commander-in-Chief in 2005
& 2006. In September 1987, Brother Gordon was coroneted a 33rd Degree, Honorary Member of the
Supreme Council. He is currently the Chairman of the Finance Committee for the Valley of Portsmouth/
Dover, and serves on the Finance Committee for New Hampshire Consistory. He is also a member of
York Rite and Bektash Shrine.
John was married on August 15, 1971 to the former Constance L. Hardy, and they were blessed with two
sons, Darren in April 1974 and Jeffrey in 1977. They have one granddaughter and two grandsons. John
has been a longtime member of the Raymond Congregational Church. His hobbies include flying as he is
a licensed pilot, and playing golf.
John joined Freemasonry at Morning Star Lodge #17 in Wolfeboro, NH taking his Entered
Apprentice Degree in December of 1994, his FellowCraft Degree in February 1995, and his
Master Masons Degree in March of 1995. John held each of the chairs in his Blue Lodge and
became Worshipful Master in January of 1999 and then again in January of 2001. He supported
his Lodge by filling in at the various stations until becoming Secretary in 2006 where he served
four years. John is currently the Assistant Secretary at Morning Star Lodge. In 2002 John was
appointed as the District Deputy Grand Lecturer for the Sixth Masonic District and in 2004 was
appointed District Deputy Grand Master of the Sixth District.
John joined Scottish Rite in the Valley of Portsmouth Dover in 1995. He then Joined Bektash
Temple in 1996 and immediately became a member of the Stewards Unit where he currently
serves as Secretary/Treasurer. He joined the York Rite bodies in 2006 and affiliated as a dual
member of Winnipesaukee Lodge #75 in Alton in 2005. John is also a member of the Warren
Alpha Chapter of Eastern Star of Wolfeboro. In 2005 John received the Major General John
Sullivan medal for his distinguished service. John was appointed to the Grand Line as Junior
Grand Deacon by M.W. Robert G Hatfield in May of 2007.
John was born September 16th 1959 in Dover NH. He attended Oyster River School in Durham
NH through 8th grade then attended Dover High Vocational School and graduated in 1977. John
has been employed at Irwin Motors in Laconia for the last 26 years. John is married to Cynthia
and the couple has one son, Corey Lobdell. John, Cindy and Corey live in Alton, NH.
Tom was very active in DeMolay, serving as Master Councilor of Nashua Chapter and as State Preceptor
in 1969-1970. He was raised in Ancient York Lodge No. 89 by his Grandfather on May 17, 1983. Tom
presided as Worshipful Master in 1992-3, and proudly wears the Past Master jewel first worn by his
Great Grandfather, John A. Lyon. Serving for over ten years as Secretary/Treasurer of the Second
District Masters and Wardens Association, he has been Secretary of his Mother Lodge since 1994. Tom
was honored by his Lodge in 2001, when Most Worshipful Jeremy J. Sawyer presented him with the
Major General John Sullivan Distinguished Service Award.
Tom is also affiliated with Joel H. Prouty Lodge, Auburn, MA; Major General Henry Knox Lodge, Boston,
MA; Amity-Mosaic Lodge, Danvers, MA; Anniversary Lodge of Research No. 175 and the Southern
California Research Lodge. He served the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts and the Worcester 22nd
Masonic District in 2001-2002, when appointed as the District Deputy Grand Secretary. Tom joined the
Scottish Rite Valley of Nashua in April, 1984. He has assisted or directed many Scottish Rite degrees,
as well as taking many parts in the 18th and 31st Degrees, and has served as Deputy’s Representative.
A Past Most Wise Master of St. George Chapter of Rose Croix, coroneted a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite
Mason in August, 2009, he proudly wears 33rd Degree and PMWM jewels first worn by his Grandfather,
Edward S. Lyon. A Noble in Bektash Shrine since 2002, he soon became an active member of the First
Section Unit and has served the Divan since 2009, currently as Director.
An active Boy Scout, Tom attended Public Schools in Nashua, graduating in 1970. He entered the US
Air Force in 1970, serving in New Mexico, Thailand, and California and was honorably discharged as
a Technical Sergeant in 1981. After a year at Tektronix, Tom joined Hewlett-Packard and retired in
2011, following his election as Grand Secretary. A private pilot, Tom is a member of the Aircraft Owners
and Pilots Association and the Experimental Aircraft Association. He is also a member of the NRA, the
Danvers Fish and Game Club, Gold Wing Road Riders Association, and the Masonic Motorcycle Club.
Tom and his wife, Kristin, met while they were ski instructors at Nashoba Valley Ski Area and reside in
Peabody, MA. Tom’s daughter, Megan lives in Lowell.
Dan’s introduction to Masonry began upon his initiation into the Order of DeMolay in Goffstown, NH.
His advisors, Pete Steckowych and Bud Cate, both Past Masters and members of Bible Lodge #27 in
Goffstown, mentored him and provided him the inspiration to become a Mason. Dan joined Bible Lodge
#27 in May 1987 and rose quickly through the chairs, his DeMolay experience providing him the tools
necessary to succeed in Lodge. Dan was installed Worshipful Master of Bible Lodge in January 1992 and
would go on to serve the Lodge in that capacity several more times. Dan guided the members of Bible
Lodge #27 through its successful merger with Lafayette Lodge #41 in November 2010. Dan continued
and expanded his Masonic journey by joining the York Rite bodies in June 2010. Dan is a charter
member of New Hampshire College Societas Rosicruciana In Civitatibus Foederatis. Dan was elected
Grand Treasurer of the Grand Lodge of New Hampshire in May 2011.
Dan graduated magna cum laude from New Hampshire College in May 1987 with a Bachelor of Science
degree in Accounting. Dan worked for Nathan Wechsler & Company, CPA’s in Concord, NH for over 15
years where he earned his certification as a Certified Public Accountant. Dan is currently employed as
the Controller at The Hodges Companies, a property management and development firm in Concord,
NH. Dan resides in Weare, NH with his wife of 24 years, April, a Past Worthy Advisor of Goffstown
Assembly #22, IORG in Goffstown. Dan and April have two daughters, Kendra and Jordyn, both of
which are Past Worthy Advisors of Goffstown Assembly #22 and have served as Grand Officers of Grand
Assembly of NH, IORG.
