On Sunday, June 25th, Masons from around the State gathered in two different locations to celebrate the observance of St. John the Baptist Sunday. The Grand Master, Most Worshipful Brother John Lobdell, and several others joined St John’s Lodge No. 1 in Portsmouth as they marched from the Lodge to St John’s Church for the annual service. The parade was led by drums and bagpipers.
The Deputy Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother Kenneth Clay, Jr., represented the Grand Master at the Cathedral of the Pines in Rindge. Over 40 Masons and their ladies joined Altemont Lodge No. 26 in the 68th annual celebration at the Cathedral.
The weather was perfect and both Portsmouth and Rindge enjoyed a great turnout of Masons and their families. Between the two locations, there were approximately 100 Masons in attendance. Cathedral of the Pines is non-denominational, outdoor cathedral with a breath-taking view of Mt. Monadnock behind it’s alter. It was founded in 1945 as a memorial to the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.
