On a warm Sunday afternoon in August, Jewell Lodge No. 94 hosted a Community Builders Award, Special Ladies and Veterans Event. It was a record attendance with close to 100 people coming out to honor Pembroke Fire Chief Harold Paulsen, our Special Ladies, and the Veteran Members of Jewell Lodge. In addition to Jewell Lodge Brethren, friends and family we were joined by the Most Worshipful Grand Master John F. Gordon and his officers.
Chief Paulsen was presented the Community Builders Award. The Chief has served the Pembroke community for many years both as a Selectman, and as the Fire Chief. Accepting on his behalf was his son Eric.
Our Special Ladies are welcome, invited and present at all our Stated Meetings and this event was no exception. Following the meal, Right Worshipful Brother Ken Clay introduced the Special Lady program with a brief overview. After which Worshipful Brother Kurt Ehler, Master of Jewell Lodge, present each lady with a single rose, broken column sticker and pin.
Adjourning to the Lodge room upstairs it was time to honor our Masonic veterans. The following Masons were recognized:

Brother John French V was presented with his 60 year certificate and lapel pin by Grand Master John Gordon. Brother French had his wife put his pin on his lapel. Brother French introduced his family (17 total) Brother French gave a few remarks on his Masonic journey.
Brother Clifton Eldridge Jr. Lives in CA. and asked that his medal be mailed to him.
Grand Master Gordon congratulated these Veterans for all there dedicated years of service to Masonry and the Brethren accorded them with a hardy round of applause.
