2023 Town Hall Meeting Schedule

The Grand Master has scheduled the Town Hall meeting dates and locations in the month of March. Be sure to pass this information along to the Brethren of your Lodge and encourage their attendance. This is an excellent opportunity for the Brethren to meet with the Grand Master and Line Officers and speak to them in an informal setting.

2022 New England Brotherhood Night

Below is information on the 40th Annual New England Brotherhood Night, to be hosted by the Grand Lodge of Vermont on Saturday, March 19, 2022.

The first New England Brotherhood night was held in Portsmouth, New Hampshire in 1982. The event was created so that the Brethren in New England could come together one evening a year to “spread the cement of Brotherly Love”. Too often Brethren don’t get an opportunity to travel to other jurisdictions. This event provides an opportunity to build those interjurisdictional friendships.

Over the years there has been an assumption that this is a Grand Lodge event. It is definitely not that, nor was it ever intended to be. Rather, this is an event for all Masons in New Hampshire and New England to socialize with their Brothers at a casual affair.

The tradition has been that the next Grand Lodge to host the event, provides the guest speaker. In 2023, the Grand Lodge of Maine will host, and they have invited Brother Luke Shorty to speak this year. Brother Shorty currently serves as the Dean of the Maine Masonic College and has been an instructor for the College for the last two years. He is the Past Junior Warden of Limestone Lodge #214 in Limestone, Maine. He holds a BA and MS in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Maine at Farmington and Montana State University, respectively. His career has been in education for the last thirteen years and he currently is the Executive Director of Lee Academy in Lee, Maine and its campuses in Shanghai, China, and Daegu South Korea.

Brethren’s Ladies are welcome to attend but need to RSVP to both:

Luncheon LOIs – the Ladies will join the Brethren at lunch, with a separate activity held for the Ladies during the LOI Program.

Dinnertime LOIs – the Ladies will be going out to a local restaurant when the Brethren are at dinner and arrive back to the Lodge prior to the ending of the LOI.

The Grand Master, Brother David S. Collins, requests that this schedule be published in each Lodge’s Trestleboard. He further requests that all Officers of the Constituent Lodges in each District make a special effort to attend the Lodge of Instruction in their District (however, attendance by Lodge Officers at any District LOI will be recorded). Attention is directed to the GLC Art IV.8.2, Page GLC 16 (GLNH Government pdf file page 36) which states (emphasis added):

“It shall be the duty of the Worshipful Master, Senior Warden, Junior Warden, Treasurer and Secretary of the Lodges in a District, whenever the Grand Master shall call a Lodge of Instruction to be held for said District, to attend the same.”

The Grand Master also requests that the Worshipful Master make an earnest effort to see that all Brothers who were Raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason after October 1, 2020 are aware of the meeting. They should be told that it is a Communication that they are expected to attend, they will be recognized and that the program will be one of Masonic information and education that should be of interest to them.

Dress for the event will be tuxedo and gloves with full regalia for all Grand Lodge Officers. Constituent Lodge Officers should wear their Aprons, Collars and Jewels.

All MASTER MASONS are welcome and are urged to attend. A current Dues Card is required for admission to the Lodges of Instruction.

2021 St. John’s Sunday Information

Brethren:

There will be a Special Communication of the Grand Lodge of New Hampshire, F&AM, on Sunday, June 27, 2021 to honor Saint John’s Day. The Grand Master, Most Worshipful Brother David S. Collins, will declare the Grand Lodge of New Hampshire, F&AM, and all Lodges in New Hampshire open at 9:30 AM.

The purpose of the Special Communication in Rindge will be to attend the 72nd Annual Saint John’s Day Service at the Cathedral of the Pines, 10 Hale Hill Rd., Rindge, NH. Church service at 10:00 AM, ending time is approximate and depends upon the flow of the service and speaker.

Charity Lodge No. 18 will be hosting a breakfast that morning which is on your way to the Cathedral of the Pines. They hope you can stop by and enjoy between 7:00 and 9:30 A.M., cost is $10.00 per person. Charity Lodge No. 18 is located at 40 Charlonne St., Jaffrey, NH. If you are planning to attend the breakfast, please RSVP to Brother Peter Noddin at 207-745-1103 (cell) or email at [email protected] in order for the Lodge to properly prepare.

The Grand Master will declare Grand Lodge and the Constituent Lodges closed at noon.

Dress for the Grand Lodge Line Officers will be morning suit with full regalia; for Grand Lodge Officers, black tuxedo with regalia; for Lodge Officers, tuxedo or dark suit with regalia; and for members, a dark suit.

It is hoped that all Constituent Lodges will attend this Special Communication. As above, the Grand Master will declare all Lodges open and no Dispensation is required to attend a church service hosted by your Lodge.

He further requests that all Officers of the Constituent Lodges in each District make a special effort to attend the Lodge of Instruction in their District (however, attendance by Lodge Officers at any District LOI will be recorded). 162nd Semiannual Communication of Grand Lodge Information

Brethren: The One Hundred and Sixty Second Semiannual Communication of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of New Hampshire, F.&A.M., will be held at the Masonic Temple, 1505 Elm Street, Manchester, NH on Saturday, November 16, 2019. Grand Lodge will open at 9:30 A.M.

Masters and Wardens in the regalia of office and the Lodge Representatives must attend. If a Master, Warden or Lodge Representative is unable to be present, he should designate a member of his Lodge as his Proxy. The combined Credential/Proxy forms are in the possession of and will be distributed by the Lodge Secretary.

It is the expectation of our Grand Master that all Masters, Wardens, and Representatives (or their proxies) will be in attendance. This is important, because your Lodge will not have voting representation, nor will it receive pertinent and beneficial information to report back to the Lodge. The attendance of voting members will be determined by Voting Cards which will be issued at the time of registration and will be turned in at the close of the afternoon session. Lodges must be represented at the Opening and Closing of Grand Lodge in order to receive credit for the day.

The Credentials Committee will be located in the first-floor lobby. ALL DELEGATES FROM LODGES, ALL MEMBERS OF GRAND LODGE, AND GRAND REPRESENTATIVES ARE REQUIRED TO REGISTER WITH THE CREDENTIALS COMMITTEE BEFORE THE 9:30 A.M. OPENING OF GRAND LODGE.

Admission to the Semiannual Communication will be by presenting a current Dues Card. Dress for Line Officers will be Morning Suit and dress for Grand Lodge Officers will be Tuxedo with full regalia.
