Evergreen Place Senior Assisted Living Home
Located at 813 Beech Street in Manchester’s north end, Evergreen Place was founded in 1904 as the New Hampshire Masonic Home to provide a safe place for widows and orphans of members of the Fraternal Order of Masons.
As societal needs evolved, the Masonic Home began to focus its service to Masons, their wives and widows, who, for various reasons, were unable to remain in their own homes. Funds for operations came from bequests, Masonic donations, resident payments and resident asset assignation.
Over the years, a new four-story wing and four-story solariums were added to the original building, and in 2000 the Masonic Home transitioned to a NH-licensed assisted living home open to all members of the community.
In 2012, while keeping its affiliation with the Order of Masons, the Masonic Home was renamed Evergreen Place.
As a nonprofit New Hampshire-licensed supported assisted living facility Evergreen Place is known for its small, close-knit family atmosphere, compassionate staff, exceptional quality of care and home-cooked food.
It continues to value its association with the Order of Masons and exemplifies the belief that all men are created equal, and all deserve respect, love, relief and charity.
