On Saturday October 15th, 60 friends, family and brethren of Evening Star Lodge No. 37 in Colebrook, gathered to recognize those members for their long term membership. The Grand Master of Masons of New Hampshire, Most Worshipful Brother John F. Gordon was in attendance to assist Master, Worshipful Brother Matthew Ducret in presenting the awards.
Receiving special recognition was Brother Bruce Lyons, Lodge Secretary, receiving the Major General John Sullivan Distinguished service award for his work in the Lodge and service in the community.
Recognized for 25 years of service were Brother William Cummings, Brother Peter Weiner and Brother George Demmons; for 40 years of service – Brother Clifford “Butch” Lane and Brother Granvyl Hulse Jr.; and for 50 years of service –Brother Ralph Thurston and Brother Arnold Young.
The final presentation of the evening went to Brother Charles “Jarvis” Lewis Jr. Jarvis, was recognized for 70 years of membership in the craft. He joined Evening Star Lodge in 1946 and is the oldest member of the Lodge serving as Master in 1954.
