As part of the Masonic outreach to the community, on December 16, members of the Masonic Family of Nashua participated in a charitable effort to “End 68 Hours of Hunger”. The following obtained posted from the organization’s Facebook page,

“Tonight we are thankful for the huge volunteer crew from 2 different Masonic lodges, and the Rainbow Girls! So many helpful hands made the work move along very quickly. AND we christened the new space! We envision many, many more successful packing nights like this.
More than 380 vacation week food bags will be distributed this week so that Nashua’s elementary school children will not face food insecurity at home during the school break.
Thank you to all of our volunteers and donors who make this possible.”

At last count, we stuffed over 385 backpacks! A Special thanks to Brother Dave Denehy for bringing this cause to our attention, Right Worshipful Larry Gullett for getting the word out, and ALL of our Rising Sun Lodge No. 39, Ancient York No. 89, Pilgrim Chapter No. 55 OES, and Rainbow Assembly No. 9, IORG and other Masonic family who turned out for this very successful event. (Even our Grand Secretary helped!)
