June 14, 2014: The annual Veterans and Awards program of Tucker Lodge #99 in Raymond, NH, was held with a Flag Day theme. Charitable donations with Grand Lodge matching funds were given to local recipients with an emphasis on youth: Boy Scout Troop 101, Raymond Police Explorers, Town of Raymond Parks & Recreation Dept. Summer Program (scholarship), and the New Life Assembly of God Food Pantry. Tucker Lodge also made an additional donation to help Ms. Audrey Fuller attend a Berkley School of Music partial scholarship.
Military veterans and first responders in attendance were given special recognition. Twenty-five year awards were given to two Tucker Lodge members, RW Bro. Michael V. Pettengill Sr., past District #1 DDGM, and to W Bro. Albert G. Henson — who raised the current WM of Tucker Lodge, W Bro. Roger F. Retzke.
Representing GLNH was RW Bro. John F. Gordon, Deputy Grand Master. He was surprised to discover himself to be the recipient of the Major General John Sullivan Award in Gold, which was presented by fellow Lodge member RW Bro. Pettengill assisted by the current District #1 DDGM, RW Bro. Robert L. Sutherland. Also in attendance were two past grand masters, MW Bro. Jeremy J. Sawyer and MW Bro. C. Wayne Libby, and other officers of GLNH.
Following the ceremony, guests, members and families retired to the Lodge dining room and enjoyed a delicious BBQ dinner prepared by W Bro. Albert J. McNally. It was a great day and a successful event.
