By Right Worshipful Brother Kenneth Clay, Jr.
Sunday, October 23, 2016:
Today two Lodges came together to celebrate history. Union Lodge No. 79 of Bristol and Kearsarge Lodge No. 81 of Andover (Potter Place) celebrated their 150th Anniversary. Following a delicious luncheon, the Lodge was called to order by Worshipful Kenneth G. Bonenfant. Most Worshipful Grand Master John F. Gordon and his Line Officers then performed an impressive Rededication Ceremony of the Lodge in Bristol. Union Lodge members then shared some Lodge history. Worshipful Brother Kevin S. Sleeper then provided a historical report on Kearsarge Lodge. These two Lodges consider themselves “sister” Lodges, so it was very special to see them recognize this important day together.
Our Grand Master also recognized two Masonic Veterans. Worshipful Brother Kenneth L. Hall, Jr. was presented with his 50-year Masonic Veteran’s medal. Right Worshipful Brother John W. Matthews was presented with his 60-year Masonic Veteran’s certificate.
All-in-all, this was a great day for two Lodges in District No. 7.
